My Coastal Boho Curation with Lowe’s

*This post is sponsored by Lowe’s*

2022 has been a BIG year for me already as I’ve been knocking goals off my bucket list (goals I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I’d achieve!) The peak of this list and a huge dream of mine is to have a home decor/furniture collaboration, and I’ll forever be grateful to my friends at Lowe’s Home Improvement for making it happen! I still feel like I’m living in a dream, waiting for someone to pinch me and bring me back to reality when I say, “I have my very own coastal boho curation with Lowe’s!”

Alongside the incredible Lowe’s team, I have spent the last 4 months selecting, editing, and creating this curation. Every single item was handpicked by yours truly! My goal for this curation is to include items of every scale (statement furniture to small home accents) that are budget friendly – good style shouldn’t cost a fortune! While my office was the room I chose to bring this curation to life in, I know many members of my community will want to shop for other areas of their home, which is why the versatility of these items is also important.

In order to keep everything cohesive, I focused my energy on choosing home accent pieces that are light-and-airy so that they can be mixed-and-matched. These items reflect Earth’s natural beauty by incorporating wood, greenery, and woven textures. Although I revealed this curation by staging my new “cloffice”, I can easily see every piece being utilized in a living room, entryway, nursery, or bedroom.

Now for a more in-depth look at the process of transforming our underutilized guest room into the “cloffice” (closet/office) of my dreams!

We started with a very “blah” space; it had been a catch-all room for random decor and furniture that we brought into our home from our previous apartment. While my neutrals-loving heart had many whites and creams present to trick people into thinking the space had been designed with purpose, I can assure you everything in this room was unintentional. I knew I needed a blank slate in order to dream up a completely new space. Once we emptied the room I was able to play around with some paint colors and textures, but they just weren’t cutting it. I wanted to give this room a real “wow” moment, and that’s when I decided to marry vertical shiplap (which gives more coastal vibes than the traditional horizontal look) along with some DIY built-ins. The great thing about Lowe’s is that they’re truly a one-stop-shop when it comes to renovating a space; they’ve got everything from wood and building supplies to furniture and decor! Being able to pick out everything at once, from one store, made the process so easy.

I’m lucky in that I married a man with a DIY-loving heart. Kev took my vision for arched, coastal, boho-style wood built-ins and brought them to life! They are functional in that they add much-needed storage space, but are also gorgeous to look at (which is important since I create and film much of my blog content in this room!)

Once the shiplap and built-ins were complete, it was time to bring my House of Style curation to life! I selected the pieces I knew would fit this space best and started playing around with shelf styling and room layout. It’s incredible how quickly you can add warmth and depth to a room by incorporating textures like the woven rug and linen curtains, while keeping it spacious and light by choosing neutral colors. It only took me an hour or two to get everything placed, and when I finally took a step back to admire my coastal boho room, my jaw hit the floor.

This room is EXACTLY what I wanted, or really, what I needed: a cozy, spacious, minimalistic work space that I actually want to spend time in! The items from my curation with Lowe’s completely transformed this space and I’m ecstatic to look around and know that each piece in this room is something I chose with budget, versatility, and purpose in mind. This room may be mine, but I hope when you look at all of the decor and furniture you’re inspired to use them in your own unique way. When you do, be sure to tag me @thebellfothebudget and @loweshomeimprovement so we can see your transformation!
