Whether you’re single and on the dating scene or you’ve been married for 10+ years, every girl loves a good date night outfit! I think it’s easy to get into a rut and always reach for the same thing when date night rolls around, so I’m sharing a few different styles that I hope fit your needs. Looking for something different, or have a very specific date you have no idea what to wear for? Leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to help!
Athleisure Date Look
I think being active in any way makes for the best first date; choosing an activity gives you both something to focus on if there’s a lull in the conversation, and it also allows you to see how your potential mate performs in situations where they may need to teach or assist someone else. Plus, endorphins make you happy, and we want a happy date, right?! Anyways – if you’re doing a ropes course, paddle boarding, or visiting a dog park, etc., I’d wear something flexible that allows you to move but an outfit that is also cute. My go-to is a pair of leggings with a tech pocket to hold my phone, keys, and credit card. (The ones linked below are the most amazing lululemon dupes, FYI!) I pair those with a flowy top that allows my cute bralette or fun sports bra to peek through (some of those back designs are amazing!) and a killer, but comfy, pair of sneakers. Top with a denim jacket or flannel tied around the waist and a hat in case it gets chilly (or sweaty – but I hope not) and this active outfit is complete! It’s a good idea to throw in a pair of jeans that go with your look too, just in case you feel like grabbing a bite to eat afterwards and want to change.
Classy Date Look
My preferred style choice for a first date is a classic look. In my opinion there is nothing better than a perfectly-fitted pair of jeans, a white button down blouse, paired with dainty gold jewelry and a neutral shoe. You can easily dress it up with heels, down with sneakers, and layer with a jacket if it’s cold out. Inspo below:
Flirty Date Look
Maybe you’re heading somewhere a little fancier or somewhere fun and you want to look girly, flirty, and thriving (anyone catch my movie reference??) I think a midi dress is a stunning option for such an outing! Whether you wear one that flares out a bit to hide your hips and give you a waist (my personal preference) or a form fitting one (a better midi option for shorter girls – just be sure not to show too much skin), you can’t go wrong. Pair with a denim jacket and sneakers for a day date or casual-ish outing, or pair with wedges, heels, or booties for evening plans. Here are a few of my favorite flirty looks:
Sassy Date Look
There’s a time and place for an ultra sexy look, but the first date may not be that time. Make sure you’re leaving enough to the imagination on the first date! But if you’ve now found yourself in a situation where you’re going to dinner and a show, or a dimly-lit restaurant, I’d suggest one of the outfits below. My biggest piece of advice when dressing on the sassier side is to choose one of your favorite assets to highlight, and make sure to balance out the rest. If your booty is your favorite part of your body and you feel confident showing it off, go for it girl!! Just make sure you’re not also wearing a super short dress or something that reveals your chest as well. It’s all about balance. I’d like to add that the sexiest thing about a person is confidence – so as long as you choose to wear something you feel great in, you can’t go wrong!
I hope these style ideas help you out on your future date endeavors! Let me know if you replicate any of them š
All is fair in love, war, and googling someone before your first date,
Love love love!!
Thanks babe! XOXO
